“Scott Seeley has always been an important part of my basketball career. He was my head coach at Innisdale SS for my Gr 10 & 11 years and spent countless hours working with me outside of practice. He helped develop my game to be translatable to the highest levels of the game. Not only did he help me in terms of basketball, but he also taught me to be a leader, a winner & a great teammate, which has helped me immensely at the NCAA D1 and National Team level. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Simcoe United and these up & coming athletes. They’ve been making tons of noise over the past year and putting Simcoe County hoopers on the map!”

Our son’s experience being part of the Simcoe United Spartans U19 team has been transformational in his basketball journey. We have found Coach Seeley, Coach Rudic, and Coach Laronde to be visionary, professional, approachable, and well connected to the post-secondary basketball community. As a member of the Simcoe United Spartans U19 team, our son has been guided and supported through constructive and empowering coaching. He was able to utilize personal and group SportsRecruits planning sessions and high quality video footage to support the recruitment process. The coaching staff have gone above and beyond to provide unique opportunities for our son to compete at an elite level, and network and connect with university/college coaches and players.

In my 40+ years in basketball as both a player and father of three sons who played, I am extremely impressed with Simcoe United. Coaches Scott and Stefan are both extremely knowledgeable and have found that narrow balance between providing instruction/input and simply being there for support while allowing the freedom to develop skill. Tyler has improved both as a player and a leader while with Simcoe United and I would recommend any parent to bring their child there without hesitation.

Scott Seeley coached me in grades 11-12, helping me to improve my skills and confidence on the court while working with me individually based on my role on various teams. He introduced skills and concepts that helped me throughout my high school and JUEL league seasons for two years, resulting in National Team selections for both of those years and a full scholarship to Stanford University. I not only became a better basketball player but a better teammate and athlete. Coach Seeley is well versed in the game of basketball, and I’m excited to see the current & future athletes in the Simcoe United program go on to great things not only in basketball, but more importantly, in their lives!

We are very excited to be a part of the Simcoe United Spartans Basketball program. Experiencing both the summer AAU season and now the Academy program, we have seen great development in our son. The Simcoe United schedule includes several practices per week at a variety of locations including Georgian College. Games are accessible while exposing the players to high level competition in a variety of leagues. The Spartans’ coaches are highly skilled and have demonstrated great commitment to the team. They are approachable and provide excellent communication to the players and parents. Our coaches offer assistance in skill development, knowledge of the game, and set a high standard of expectations on their players in and outside of the game of basketball. They have helped our son develop as a player, and have guided him through the process of accessing and creating contacts for post secondary basketball opportunities. Simcoe United Spartans use a variety of media platforms and offer webinars to educate players on how to maximize their potential. We would highly recommend this opportunity to any eligible player. It is a pleasure to be part of this basketball community and we are grateful to have this elite program offered in Barrie.

For the last couple of years my son and I have been looking for a team that would help develop his basketball skills, play at a competitive level and expose him to opportunities that could lead to post secondary options. I am so happy that the Simcoe United Spartans have created that for us. I am thankful that he gets to be a part of a team that pushes him in all of those areas and cares about his overall wellbeing as a person. He has grown as a basketball player, a leader and as a person through their coaching. They have brought a new level of basketball to Simcoe County that has put us on the map with other competitive teams in the GTA.
